Spokane Spike & Dig was founded in
1992 by the Co-Founder of Spokane Hoopfest Jerry Schmidt. As the tournament has
grown through the years, Jerry has looked to some of Spokane's brightest
and enthusiastic volunteers to help maintain one of the largest outdoor
co-ed 6-on-6 volleyball tournaments in the world. Spike & Dig 2013 had
321 teams played in this annual tournament.
Along with the many veteran
volunteers, including Phil Robinson (Head Marshal), Bryan Witter (Site
Engineer), and Therese Witter (Head Scoreboard), Brandon Schmidt & Jason
Curry has recruited some of the area's finest interns to bring fresh and
exciting ideas to the ever growing tournament.
